Washington Friendsgiving – Round II

Back to the Hot Tub Roots

First of all, Happy Thanksgiving!  Don’t mind this post being 2 months afterwards, as I was debating even writing one with all the big moves in 2022.  Nevertheless, it was another amazing year and a perfect way to start off the holiday season with a Friendsgiving out in nature.  I think there was some doubt if we could ever match our first Friendsgiving out west, but we did a solid job mixing in some new activities while ensuring the cabin still had a hot tub!

Here’s the wrap up!

Winter Fun

The reason expectations were set at some level was due to the fact we had a million feet of snow dump on us last time.  It really made for some insane snowshoeing!  But that didn’t stop us from from skiing, nor did it stop me from planting a few ices 🙂

This year we stayed much more west and still got an awesome cabin on a lake.  I think we were in Bellingham?  Regardless, trips out to Mt. Baker happened multiple times for some skiing, boarding and snowshoeing just a few days after the mountain opened.  We did some rock-climbing in Bellingham and found a sweet German biergarten to watch some of the World Cup games, and crushed in bowling too!

So all in all, not having a bunch of snow didn’t mean we couldn’t shred!  In addition, I was able to meet up with Alex, who supplied us with more Elysian beer than we ever needed, haha.  Mila and I cut the trip short to make it back to Florida for the family Thanksgiving while the rest continued on.  It would be a lie if I said I wasn’t just a itty bit jealous of their Mt. Rainier hike… EPIC!
